With this chair, the familiar construction and form of widely used garden tools has been suggested in an unexpected setting. At first glance, it may not be obvious but there is an underlying familiarity. A traditional garden tool red has been used to help jog the subconscious memory of where we might normally find these kinds of forms. Without entirely giving the answers away, the observer is allowed to explore it in their own way.
The design derived from a study in to the collective memory and how we subconsciously make associations with archetypal objects, identify with them and find familiarity in them.
Made with solid ash and powder coated steel.
